LLB Evening Programme

Recently Government  of Kerala approved the Prospectus for admission to the LL.B Three Year Unitary (Evening) Programme sanctioned at Government Law College, Thiruvananthapuram during 2014-15.

As per G.O. (Rt.) No: 1992/2014/H.Edn Dated, Thiruvananthapuram, 21.08.2014, issued by the Higher Education Department, the course extends over a period of 6 semesters and classes will be conducted regularly every working day in a week. The course will be in accordance with the syllabi of the Three Year Unitary LL.B Course of the University of Kerala.Applicant should be an Indian Citizen, employed in Thiruvananthapuram District having not less than 5 years of service in the employment on a regular basis.Applicant has to be a Graduate in any faculty of the University of Kerala or of any other University recognised by the University of Kerala.

A total of 60 students will be admitted to the Programme. Of this, 30% seats will be reserved for State Government Employees. Five percent seats will be reserved for members of All India Service who are in the service of Government of Kerala. Another 5% seats will be reserved for members of the Kerala Legislative Assembly and Parliament.Separate Quota will be fixed for Government and Non-Government categories. Separate quota will be fixed for Science and non-Science stream in the same proportion to the registered applicants in each category.Vacant seats in any reservation quota will go to the general merit.

Selection of candidates will be made by the Principal, Government Law College, Trivandrum, based on merit. Weightage of 2% marks would be given to Post Graduate Degree.Admission fee will be Rs.1000/-. The annual tuition fee would be Rs.20,000/- to be paid in two instalments. The annual Library fee is Rs.1500/- to be paid in one instalment. Students will also have to pay a caution deposit of Rs.2000/- at the time of admission.
Cost of application would be Rs.1000/- It would be Rs.500/- for SC/ST applicants.

Applicants would be required to attach (i) Attested copies of Degree Certificates and Mark Sheets (ii)Employment Certificate and No Objection Certificate from the employer (iii) Community/Caste certificate for SC/ST Applicants (iv)Non-Creamy Layer certificate from the concerned officer, in case of those seeking seats in reserved quota (except SC, ST, MLA, MP and All India Service quota) (v) Necessary Certificate for MLA and MP Quota (vi) Self-addressed stamped Post Card, along with the filled application.
Originals of the Degree Certificates and Mark Sheets, Transfer certificate in the prescribed form, Conduct Certificate from the Head of the Office where working, Eligibility certificate from the University of Kerala, if qualifying degree is obtained from a University outside Kerala, Certificate from the Head of the Office that the candidate is a regular employee having not less than five years of service, at the time of interview.Filled in applications will have to be addressed to ‘The Principal, Government Law College, Barton Hill, Vanchiyoor (PO), Thiruvananthapuram-695037’. It would be accepted by hand or by post.

Those who obtain admission and discontinue the studies after closing of admission in the same year or in subsequent years are liable to pay liquidated damages of Rs.25,000/-.The date of issue of application and the last date of receipt of application will be notified by the Principal, in due course.
