Dr.T.P.Sethumadhavan

Recently cost of overseas education is increasing day by day. Parents and students are finding difficult to cope up with the situation. Taking in to account the cost escalation and rupee depreciation, airline companies are offering novel scholarships and special concessions for Indian students aspiring for foreign education. Virgin Atlantic, a group of Virgin Group has instituted a scholarship of Rs five lakh for an Indian student for their higher education in UK or US. Students need to send an essay highlighting how they plan to use their education and college experience to benefit the world. It could be anything from an initiative to help the environment to find a cure for a chronic disease. Moreover all Indian students flying to the US or UK with Virgin Atlantic will be allowed extra baggage without any additional cost. Students can travel with up to 50 Kg baggage in economy (25 Kg each) and 75 Kg in premium economy (Three bags of 25 Kg each). Student will also be allowed one date change for travel free of cost. Valid visa and Indian Passport is mandatory for this. Once the student booked the ticket with Virgin Atlantic, he can use that ticket for getting discounts at jabong.com, ebay, lyca Phone cards and Traweltag insurance. To avail the above benefits, students can send their essay by 15th October 2013 to indiastudents@fly.virgin.com
All students traveling in the American Airlines will get 500 bonus air points and five percent off on land packages when they book for holiday trip.
