Kochi: The pass percentage in Kerala Teachers Eligibility Test has increased, according to Education Minister P K Abdu Rabb. He was announcing the results for KTET in Thiruvananthapuram on Monday.

The Teacher Eligibility Test is intended in creating a national level benchmark in the standard of teachers and their appointment procedure. Out of 16,339 candidates who applied in Lower Primary cateogry, 14,971 appeared for the exam and 1,714 qualified the same. In Upper Primary category, 12.51 per cent students qualified the test. In High School category, 1,199 out of 15,581 candidates qualified the test.

However, no candidate secured above 80 percentage. Seven students have scored marks between 75 and 80.
