KVASU to promote poultry Entrepreneurship among Tribal Community

  Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University will promote Poultry Entrepreneurship across the State with due emphasis to food security among tribal population. Directorate of Entrepreneurship of KVASU in association with College of Avian Sciences and Management will implement this programme. Says Dr.T.P.Sethumadhavan, Director of Entrepreneurship of KVASU. An awareness programme for the school children among tribal areas of Attappady namely Agaly, Sholayur and Puthur Grama panchayat will be held at Agaly Grama Panchayat Community Hall on 4th July 2016. In order to promote Poultry entrepreneurship among students of Poultry Science and Management an Entrepreneurship day will be held at College of Avian Sciences and Management on 9th August 2016 as part of Entrepreneurship fortnight. An Entrepreneur industry meet will be held at College of Avian Sciences and Management along with Entrepreneurship day at Thiruvazhamkunnu. KVASU is promoting local entrepreneurship in Poultry farming. In order to promote food and nutritional security among tribal population of Attappady region University will facilitate to promote poultry farming to meet the increasing needs of chicken and eggs. KVASU’s unique Aiswarya Poultry project and Anaswara Quail project will be popularised among tribal settlement. In tune with Wayanad 2030 of the University. University will document traditional rearing practices and livestock production practices of tribal population for sustainable rearing practices. It will facilitate viable demand driven field oriented livelihood based projects for the tribal community.
